Working with Parents We are always seeking to develop stronger links with parents. We have a Home-School Agreement which is in the Pupil Planner, given to all pupils at the start of the year. We have a ‘Wyvern Association’ which is a group of parents who want to get involved in school life and help with fund raising activities and so on. We also create focus groups when we want to discuss particular issues with parents, such as rewards, detentions or uniform. We do have a simple and clear uniform policy which is detailed in the insert at the back of this prospectus. We have high expectations of pupil dress and we expect parents to ensure that pupils leave the home each morning with the correct uniform and equipment so they are ‘Ready to Learn’ as soon as they arrive. We also have a clear and simple Rewards and Sanctions system, also detailed in the sheets at the back. We will always reward pupils for making good progress and ‘going the extra mile’ – and we will always use sanctions for those pupils who make wrong choices and disrupt the learning of others. |
