GUIDELINES FOR PARENTS AND CARERS
SWEATSHIRTS AND POLO SHIRTS
The school uses a specialist supplier for its collared polo shirts with the school logo. We ask that no other logos are worn. Details of cost and procedure may be obtained from the supplier’s catalogues which are available from the school reception.
SKIRTS AND TROUSERS
These can be either dark grey or black and should be of conventional type.
SHOES
Parents and carers are requested to support the school by ensuring pupils wear black conventional shoes at all times except for physical education.
JEWELLERY
The following guidelines are in place for the wearing of jewellery.
Pupils should only wear: < plain sleepers or studs to the ears - hoops must be small for safety reasons; < no more than one ring on each hand; < no facial jewellery, including any piercings.
There will be a requirement, on health and safety grounds, for all jewellery to be removed in PE and sometimes in Technology, at the direction of the teacher.
PERSONAL APPEARANCE
Wyvern Community School encourages personal development and individual expression, in the context of a common approach to school life.
Our expectation then is:
< a preference for no make-up, but the possibility of its discreet wearing by older pupils; < the avoidance of extremes of hair style; < neat and tidy wearing of clothes, eg shirts tucked in; < the removal of outdoor coats inside school, in class, in the dining area and around the corridors.
PE KIT
